Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic (TMMCZ) received the AFI Annual Award 2026 in the category of significant investment achievement during the conference of the Association for Foreign Investment (AFI). The award was granted for the expansion of the plant in Kolín-Ovčáry, which will enable the production launch of a new battery electric vehicle. The award was accepted on behalf of the company by Robert Kiml, President of TMMCZ, during the official ceremony.
The project represents an investment exceeding of nearly CZK 17 billion and is supported by a subsidy from the Strategic Investment Framework Programme for a Climate-Neutral Economy. It will make a significant contribution to the development of zero-emission mobility and the achievement of carbon neutrality goals. The investment also highlights the important role of the Kolín plant in Toyota’s European electrification strategy.
The expansion will create more than 200 new employment opportunities in the region and strengthen the technological know-how of the Czech automotive industry. The project will further modernize production and contribute to the development of sustainable mobility while enhancing the competitiveness of the Czech Republic’s automotive sector.
The AFI Annual Awards recognize companies, organizations, and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of the investment environment in the Czech Republic. The award presented to TMMCZ underscores the importance of this investment not only for the Kolín region but also for the future direction of the Czech automotive industry.
