In mid-June, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic (TMMCZ) hosted the 20th anniversary edition of the European Quality Circles Conference (QCC), with the main program taking place on June 17. A total of eleven teams from Toyota plants across Europe attended, along with one team from Japan. The conference aimed not only to share experience and inspire collaboration across plants, but also to recognize teams that achieved outstanding results in continuous improvement.
The conference program was spread over several days. On Tuesday, the teams toured the Kolín plant and took part in a series of hands-on skill activities directly on the shop floor, giving them insight into employees’ day-to-day work.
The main part of the program took place on Wednesday, June 17, when the teams presented their projects to European management. The conference once again confirmed the importance of Quality Circles as a tool for sharing know-how and supporting employee development across the organization.
TMMCZ was represented by the Chytrolíni team from the Quality Department, which qualified for the conference by placing second in the company-wide competition.
The program also included an informal part that supported networking among participants. Following Wednesday’s presentations, a gala dinner was held, and on Thursday the guests enjoyed a program in Prague city center, including a Vltava river cruise and a visit to the Pilsner Urquell Experience museum.
The 20th anniversary edition of the QCC conference confirmed that innovations driven directly by shopfloor employees move the entire Toyota Group forward and deliver excellent results in everyday practice.
