The compact urban crossover Toyota Aygo X enters the minicar segment with full hybrid technology. It will be manufactured exclusively here in Kolín, where it will become the first hybrid model in the Aygo lineup produced at this plant.
The new Aygo X boasts the lowest CO2 emissions across all non-plug-in models on the market, at just 86 g CO2/km according to the WLTP standard. The total system output has increased by 44 horsepower to 116 hp, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 10 seconds. Thanks to the hybrid drivetrain and manufacturing innovations, the overall carbon footprint has been reduced by 18% compared to the previous generation.
“Toyota Aygo has been produced here at our Kolín plant since 2005. The modernized third-generation Aygo X, arriving for the first time with hybrid powertrain, is a wonderful gift to celebrate our plant’s 20th anniversary this year,” said Robert Kiml, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech.
The new Aygo X is the first full hybrid model in the A-segment and also the smallest hybrid Toyota. Its innovative battery layout uses two blocks of cells placed side by side under the rear seats, allowing the wheelbase of 2,430 mm and the trunk capacity of 231 liters to be retained. The car is equipped with advanced Toyota Safety Sense systems featuring over-the-air updates.
For the first time, the sporty Aygo X GR SPORT version is introduced, with striking orange-and-black paint, specially tuned shock absorbers, and an exclusive “G”-pattern grille known from other GR series models.
For today’s customers, responsible environmental approach is increasingly important when choosing a vehicle. The hybrid Aygo X is designed to offer an attractive combination of driving comfort, practicality, and efficiency to meet these needs.
Toyota’s multi-technology approach toward carbon neutrality is based on offering various solutions regardless of where the customer lives or their individual requirements. With the new hybrid Aygo X, Toyota opens the door to electrification for a wider range of customers across different automotive segments.
The new Aygo X incorporates recycled materials, including the innovative SakuraTouch material, which reduces CO2 emissions by 95% compared to genuine leather.
Sales will begin on European markets at the end of 2025.
